Londoners ‘egg-cited’ for Easter event

Not only is London hosting the world's biggest sporting event this year, it is also going to be the setting for the world's biggest Easter egg hunt.

The Faberge Big Egg hunt is a chance for London's visitors and residents to hunt down giant, bejewelled easter eggs, many of which are tremendously valuable.

Event organisers commissioned some of the world's most famous creative minds to decorate the eggs, including artist Peter Weigl and legendary movie director Ridley Scott.

There are more than 200 Faberge eggs hidden throughout the city, and the more eggs each person manages to find, the greater their chance of winning the grand prize Diamond Jubilee Egg.

It is a wonderful opportunity for newcomers, as well as the local community, to discover new parts of the city.

Participants will have the chance to own one of these 'egg-ceptional' pieces of art at two live auctions.

All of the proceeds will be donated to the charities Elephant Family and Action for Children.
